In 2004 Edward Beauclerk Maurice published 'The Last of the Gentlemen Adventurers: Coming of Age in the Arctic' the story of his five years spent as an apprentice fur trader for the Hudson's Bay Company and his life with the Eskimos.

1. THELWALL BLISSET MAURICE was born 1767, and died 1830. He married ANNE BREWER.

Joined Dr Pinckney in practice in Malborough. Six generations of his family have continued to this day in the practice

Apprenticed as an apothecary to his father.

Notes for JAMES MAURICE:

After the death of his uncle he returned to Wales in 1838 to live with his aunt at Ruthin, Denbighshire.

At the age of 44 he qualified as a barrister and was called to the bar in 1853.

He became Deputy Lieutenant for the County of Denbigh.

He was Mayor of Ruthin for 4 successive years.

2. JOHN PIERCE MAURICE was born 1798, and died 1874. He married JANE LUCY POWYS 1836, daughter of THOMAS POWYS and HENRIETTA GUILLYM-ATHERTON. She was born 1811, and died 1905.

3. ARTHUR CORBET MAURICE was born 1844 in Romsey, Hampshire, and died 1908. He married EMILY STUART MONTAGU January 15, 1884, daughter of JOHN MONTAGU and ISABELLA BEAUCLERK. She was born April 1849, and died December 17, 1940.
